How can I annotate in-app during a meeting?

Sometimes, when presenting an Income Lab plan to a client, advisors want to be able to “mark up” the screen with highlighting, underlines, shapes, and even writing. Luckily, in today's world, this is easily accomplished. While the Income Lab software itself doesn't offer this functionality, there are many good options that work well with Income Lab and with any other software you might want to show a client. These typically fall into three types:
- Snapshot + annotation: Tools that allow you to annotate on a screenshot (not on a live screen)
- Live annotation: Tools that allow you to annotate on a live computer screen or web browser page
- Virtual meeting annotation: Tools hosted by your virtual meeting software
Most likely, advisors will want to use tools of the second and third type in meetings with clients.
If you are having a virtual meeting using a tool such as Zoom or Teams, those programs offer in-meeting annotation tools. If you want annotation tools for a live meeting where you are looking at a screen with someone else in the room, you'll want to look for a third-party annotation tool that allows you to annotate in a web browser window, or on your overall computer desktop.
One of the easiest options that works well with Income Lab would be a web browser plug-in or extension. For example, the Chrome browser has available extensions like Page Marker or Draw on Page that are very easy to install and use. Simply do a web search or go to your favorite browser's extensions page and try some!
