Standard Data
All integrations will bring over investment account names, balances, and cost basis (if available). After an integration is set up, you must follow these steps to add linked accounts to the household.
⚠️ Important Notice
Asset class allocations are not included in the standard data integration partners provide (please see below for the list of integration partners that bring in additional data). Linked accounts will be defaulted to a 60/40 allocation using our "Risked-Based Defaults." A great alternative is to pre-build your own model allocations under the settings section of your account.
Household Import [Redtail, PreciseFP, Orion]
There are a few integrations that will support household import functionality: PreciseFP, Orion, and Redtail.
Orion: The Orion household import will not bring over both clients in a household. After importing the household, you will need to go into the household info to add the second member of the household. Then, on the plan info page, under the “clients included in this plan,” open the drop-down and select the option that includes both members. After that, you can properly set up the ownership of the accounts, income sources, etc.
View this tutorial video for a step-by-step walkthrough.
⚠️ Important Notice
You may see a "Failed Import" error notice when a household you're importing from Orion doesn't have the minimal data that Income Lab needs to create a household. If you run into this error, please follow the steps in our Orion Integration Error help article for steps to resolve this problem.
PreciseFP
The PreciseFP integration only supports data from their standard templates. Any customized data sets will not come through with the integration.
Redtail
The Redtail integration will bring over data for the full household by importing only the accounts under the main head of household. If you try to add the data from both members, you may see this failed import notice below. This simply confirms that only the household from the main head of household is imported and the software did not import a duplicate household under the secondary member.
Integrations with additional data points [Redtail, Orion, PreciseFP]
There are several integrations that will allow additional data points to come over. Please see those listed below, in addition to the data they bring over.
Redtail
In addition to investment account names, balances, and cost basis, the Redtail integration will also include investment allocation data, annuities, other assets, liabilities, and expenses.
Orion
In addition to investment account names, balances, and cost basis, the Orion integration will also bring over the full name, date of birth, and email for the head of household.
