Instructions
 

Step 1: Initiate the Integration

  1. Select your profile in the top right side of the screen, then click Integrations.

 

  1. Click Add Integration.

 

  1. Select Orion from the window, then click Link.

 

  1. Carefully read the integration instructions, then click Activate Integration.

 

 

 

  1. Enter your Orion username and password, then click Sign In.

 

  1. You will be redirected back to the Income Lab application, where you should now see that your Orion integration is active.

 

 

Step 2: Add Linked Accounts

 

  1. Go to the main Households page and select a household or click Import Household to import the full household data into Income Lab.

⚠️  Important Notice

The Orion household import will not bring over both clients in a household. After importing the household you will need to go into the household info to add the second member of the household. Then on the plan info page, under the “clients included in this plan,” open the drop down and select that option that includes both members. After that, you can properly set up the ownership of the accounts, income sources, etc. View this tutorial video for a step-by-step walkthrough:

You may see a Failed Import error notice when a household you're importing from Orion doesn't have the minimal data that Income Lab needs to create a household. Below is the list of the required minimum data points we need to import the household. Please confirm all these data points are currently showing up on the Orion side. If there's any missing data, try updating the data in Orion and attempting the household import again:

  • HouseholdName in orion is called name
  • ClientLastName in orion is called lastName
  • HouseholdEmail in orion is called email
  • ClientBirthDate in orion is called  dob
  • ClientFirstName in orion is called firstName
 

 

  1. After you select a specific household, edit the household by clicking the pencil icon on the top right of your Income Plan.

 

  1. On the Assets page, click Add Linked Accounts.

 

  1. On the left side, select the Source as Orion, use the search bar to find your household, use the drop-down menu to open and show all accounts, then select the accounts you would like to link to Income Lab. Then click Save to finish.

 

You will now see the accounts linked under the assets list. The linked accounts will be indicated by the Orion logo.

 

⚠️  Important Notice

The Orion integration will bring over investment account names, balances, and cost basis. Households added through household import will also include the full name, date of birth, and email of the head of household.
